Initiated by Music Network, Music Generation is co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, the Department of Education and Skills and local Music Education Partnerships.

Music Generation Limerick City is a managed and lead by Limerick and Clare Education Training Board.

The project is funded 50% by the Dept. of Education (via Music Generation) and 50% though local matched funding. This currently includes support from Limerick and Clare Education Board, Limerick Council, the JP McManus Foundation and partnership income from Limerick Youth Service, the University of Limerick, LIT and national and secondary schools across the city.

A steering group, comprising of stakeholders, independent specialists and tutors meets four times a year to guide the programme.

All financial, HR, and legislative controls and oversights are managed within the Limerick and Clare Education Training Board.
