Limerick City Children’s Choir was founded by Music Generation last October for young people age 5-10. Since then it has enjoyed notable early successes, such as performing for the New Year’s Eve Fireworks.
There are two groups. The first, for 7-10 year olds, combines choral and harmony work with games. The choir has been invited to perform at a range of high profile events during Limerick’s year as City of Culture.
The younger members of the choir (4-6) are the ‘Piccolo Penguins’. They focus more on pitch, rhythm and singing games, along with music appreciation (listening and finding out about different styles of music and special guests).
Both groups are open to everyone and there is no cost. Rehearsals are 2.15-3.15 on Saturday afternoons at Mary Immaculate College.
